Rewards
Comforting word or comforting pat on the neck or rump goes a long way.
Encouragement and rewards is want builds a useful good relationship with your horse.
Sit a spell, or dwell and give a the horse a pat.
Remember the horse’s strongest desires are to gain comfort and to be accepted.

Dwell Time and rewards
Dwell is important component in training, yet it is overlooked.
After doing a maneuver, stop and rest the horse for a few minutes (especially youngsters), this gives them an reward and to calm down.
Sit a spell, or dwell and give the horse a pat.
Remember the horse’s strongest desires is to gain comfort and to be accepted.
It helps you too, you both relax and gain confidence.
If the horse relaxes after each maneuver, it will quickly show up in his attitude at some point.
Quiet horse learns faster.
